FITSTOP Global Games Set to Bring 1,000 Athletes to Brisbane for Major Functional Fitness Showdown

BRISBANE, Australia, Sept. 14, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Australian-born fitness brand brings its global competition home as athletes from across the country descend on Brisbane.

Brisbane is set to become the centre of Australia’s functional fitness community this October, with over 1,000 athletes expected to descend on the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre for Fitstop Global Games.

Taking place on Saturday, 3 October 2026, the major fitness event will bring together Fitstoppers and athletes from across Australia for a high-energy showcase of strength, speed, stamina and teamwork, marking the Australian finale of Fitstop’s inaugural Global Games tour following events in Singapore and Los Angeles. Final tickets can be secured directly through the official Circle21 platform.

Born in Brisbane and scaled to 170+ studios across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United States, Fitstop is bringing its premier competition back to the city where the brand began, transforming the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre into a large-scale celebration of fitness, performance and community.

Fitstop Founder and CEO Peter Hull said the Brisbane event represented a significant milestone for the Australian-born brand.

Bringing Global Games home to Brisbane is a pretty special moment for Fitstop,” said Hull.

This is where our story started, and now we have Fitstoppers travelling from communities right across the country to throw down together on the world stage.

“Global Games is everything Fitstop stands for brought to life at scale; performance, progress and community. We’ve created a competition that challenges people to put their training to the test, but is still accessible enough that the everyday athlete can step onto the floor alongside some seriously high-level competitors.

“To have 1,000 athletes for Brisbane in our first year of Global Games shows just how strong the appetite is for this kind of experience and, more importantly, how powerful the Fitstop community has become.”

Unlike other race-dominant formats, Fitstop’s Global Games is engineered to test an athlete’s total fitness capacity, balancing power, pace, strength, stamina and teamwork rather than prioritising a single discipline. The competition removes highly technical movements that can create barriers to entry while maintaining the intensity expected from a serious performance event.

Athletes compete in pairs across four 14-minute workout stations - LIFT, CONDITION, PERFORM and SWEAT - forged from Fitstop’s signature training formula. Each station tests a different performance element, with points awarded for reps completed, weight lifted and time achieved. Competitors can enter either ALL STAR, designed for the everyday athlete ready to level up, or PRO, for elite high performers.

The Brisbane event will also bring together a growing ecosystem of fitness, wellness and lifestyle brands, led by LSKD as naming rights partner. LSKD will have an on-site retail pop-up, including customised heat pressing for purchases, while Subway Australia will support athletes with a dedicated warm-up and refuel zone.

Fitstop Head of Brand and Marketing, Ryan Ansell, said the scale of Brisbane demonstrates the opportunity for fitness brands to create experiences that extend well beyond the traditional gym floor.

People increasingly want their fitness to give them something to train towards and something they can be part of. Global Games takes the training our communities do every week and gives it a stage,” said Ryan.

What makes Brisbane particularly exciting is the scale of the community coming together. We’ll have Fitstoppers flying in from around Australia, partners activating throughout the venue and hundreds of teams competing side-by-side.

“It becomes much bigger than a workout or even a competition – it’s a full fitness experience built around shared performance.”

Global Games launched in Singapore earlier this year with over 600+ filling the Sports Hub national arena, before travelling to Los Angeles in July. The Brisbane event represents the culmination of the competition’s inaugural three-continent tour and a significant evolution of Fitstop’s long-standing competitive culture.

The concept also forms part of Fitstop’s broader strategy to create deeper engagement across its growing franchise network, providing members with tangible performance goals while creating major brand moments capable of attracting new audiences to the Fitstop ecosystem. The original Global Games strategy was designed to support both member retention and new audience acquisition across the network.

Fitstop Global Games Brisbane will take place at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on Saturday, 3 October 2026. The event is open to Fitstop members and the wider public, with the final competitor places now available and free spectator tickets available via the official competition platform, Circle21.
